A clearer view of what comes next.
Introducing Schicane: an independent perspective on AI, built around the developments that deserve your attention.
The pace of artificial intelligence can make every announcement feel like a turning point. Keeping up is one challenge. Knowing what deserves your attention is another.
Schicane starts with a simple editorial idea: take a step back, follow the evidence, and explain the developments that matter.
More perspective. Less noise.
What you can expect
Our weekly reports will cover models, research, industry, agents, robotics, and policy. Each report will distinguish three things: what happened, why it matters, and what to watch next.
A product announcement is not the same as an independently demonstrated capability. A promising research result is not the same as a reliable real-world system. Those distinctions belong in the story.
Sources are part of the story
We aim to link directly to papers, technical documentation, official announcements, and original policy documents. When the evidence is incomplete, we will say so. When an interpretation goes beyond the available facts, we will make that clear.
Read our methodology for the editorial principles that will guide this work.
The publication starts here
This is a launch note, not a weekly news report. Our reporting archive begins with the first source-backed weekly edition. Until then, this note explains the publication we are building and the standard we intend to meet.
